Jacques Attali

President

Jacques Attali founded PlaNet Finance in 1998 and since then has maintained the position of President of the organisation.

Professor, writer and special advisor to the President of the Republic from 1981 to 1991, founder and first president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London from 1991 to 1993, Jacques Attali founded the NGO International Action against Hunger (Action Internationale Contre la Faim) in 1980 and the European Eureka Program for new technology in 1984. In 1989, Jacques Attali launched an international action campaign following the disastrous floods in Bangladesh.

He is the author of 38 books, essays, novels and theatre productions translated into more than 20 languages.

Not only does he possess a doctorate in Economic Sciences, Jacques Attali has also graduated from the École Polytechnique, the École des Mines, the Institut  d'Études Politiques (Institute for Political Studies) and from the École Nationale de l'Administration. He taught economics at the École Polytechnique, the École des Ponts et Chaussées and at the University of Paris-Dauphine.

Arnaud Ventura

Vice President

Arnaud Ventura co-founded PlaNet Finance in 1998 and developed the organisation as a Managing Director until December 2005 before taking up the position of Vice President in 2006.

Arnaud Ventura has been directly involved in the design, negotiation and implementation of large microfinance projects: Technical Assistance, Bank Downscaling, Government Consulting (Regulation & Strategy). In 2005 he created MicroCred, an investment company, organised as a holding of microfinance companies. Arnaud Ventura is President of the Board of MicroCred.

Arnaud Ventura has developed a strong knowledge of best practices in Microfinance & Small Business lending. Moreover he has also participated in the design and management of microfinance funds.

Before founding PlaNet Finance, he was successively a consultant within the ITC (Information and Communication Technology) Industry in Asia for Internet Thailand, the founder & president of NGO-NET and an IT Advisor for BNP-Paribas.
